PageMate ® provides capabilities to construct and
send both numeric and alphanumeric text messages to electronic
pagers, digital telephones and similar portable messaging devices.
The software gives computer users hands-on control of messaging
by offering them the ability to send messages directly from their
desktops. Users on a variety of different systems can access pager
catalogs and send messages without needing local access to modems
or telephone lines. Supported software environments include Microsoft
Windows, OpenVMS, Digital UNIX (Tru64 UNIX), HP-UX, IBM AIX and
Sun Solaris. Messages to be paged can be entered directly by interactive
users or derived from scripts and command procedures, electronic
mail, network monitors, help desk and other site-specific applications.
PageMate server software maintains a system common pager catalog
and provides telecommunication services required to send messages
to the paging network. The software provides access to pagers
via ether commercial or customer-owned (on-site) paging systems.
A messaging capability that supports the delivery of information
to anyone, anywhere, anytime is rapidly becoming a fundamental
of business. Electronic paging is now widely accepted as a cost-effective
information pipe-line for the delivery of time critical messages.
PageMate software provides access to that pipeline from PCs, workstations,
application programs, scripts and command procedures, and electronic
mail.

PageMate supports operation with system common, user private
and group catalogs. Catalogs provide complete directory entries
for each pager, including pager name, pager type and PIN, full
user name and company information, telephone numbers, electronic
mail address and comments.
PageMate supports connection to commercial paging networks via
the switched telephone network using Hayes-compatible modems.
Modems may be connected to the PageMate server either directly
or through a terminal server.
PageMate software supports operation in both standalone and
client-server configurations. Workstation licenses provide support
for operation with a limited number of pagers from a single computer
system. Server licenses provide support for operation with unlimited
pagers and users in either standalone server or client-server
configurations.
PageMate provides support for operation with both commercial
paging networks worldwide and customer-owned (on-site) paging
systems. On-site paging systems provide a cost-effective solution
to requirements for electronic paging within a limited geographic
area. Systemetrics can supply Motorola transmitters and paging
equipment, together with PageMate software, to satisfy requirements
for on-site paging.
PageMate software provides core capabilities for delivery of
critical event notification, status messages and other important
information to anyone, anywhere, anytime. The software can be
used with network monitors, help desk and other automated dispatch
applications to provide capabilities for automatic notification
to technical support personnel of problem reports, trouble tickets
and other system-related conditions and events.
