Systemetrics sells and supports MultiTech ZDX-series modems for use with PageMate. These are external modems that are available worldwide and have a long and excellent track record of service from one of the oldest and most respected vendors in data communications. They work with all Windows, UNIX and OpenVMS platforms that PageMate supports, and are distributed with a hardcopy User's Guide that documents all of the industry-standard and vendor-specific commands that are implemented in the modem firmware. The command set is consistent with that of other MultiTech modems that have been marketed worldwide for more than two decades.

Of the many reasons why we have standardized PageMate operation using MultiTech ZDX-series modems, the most important is that making these modems emulate a TeleType brand teleprinter is a fairly straightforward process. And having a modem that faithfully emulates a TeleType brand teleprinter is critically important to reliable operation with paging service providers on the switched telephone network.

MultiTech ZDX-series modems are available from Systemetrics, pre-configured and tested for use with PageMate, for US$ 200 each (Company Purchase Order, VISA or MasterCard).
